VISION AND MISSION OF THE DEPARTMENT
VISION:
The aim of the department is to achieve excellence through high quality education and research relevant to the local, regional and national needs with the cooperation of leading researchers and educators.
MISSION:
- To inspire the students to achieve their goals in biological science.
- To create intellectually stimulating environment, promote excellence in teaching, research and extension activities and facilitate academic freedom, diversity and harmony.
- To develop an aptitude for understanding nature and its rich biodiversity.
- To acquire knowledge on the taxonomic status of various animals and its relationship to man.
- To bring about an awareness of health related problems, their prevention and cure.
- Undergraduate level training aims at providing a wide –spectrum comprehension of the anatomy, physiology, Animal Biotechnology, Animal husbandary, ecology and conservation of terrestrial and aquatic animals.
- At post graduate level, our main objective is maintaining a high level of scientific excellence in Zoological research.
- To involve the students and faculty of the department in community based and outreach activities whenever, wherever possible.
